17 Animals That Had Strange Encounters… As Told by Humans

I was camping with some buddies and was getting ready for a shower. I was walking through the camp in just my briefs and a towel over my shoulder when I see something brown flutter behind my back. I immediately go into jackie chan mode and whip around with my hands in a stereotypical karate chop position. Im met with the round face and giant judging eyes of an owl. He cocks his head and spreads his wings, looking exactly like an owl would if he could say, “come at me brah!”. I karate chop the air and he flies off the ground, onto a low hanging branch, and hoot/screams at me. I squawk back. He hoots back. I do portion of the chicken dance. He hoots once more and flies off.

I was walking home from the convenience store around 9 PM. I live in a pretty wooded area, even around my apartment complex. I was about 10 feet from my door and I suddenly heard leaves rustling near me. I turn and see a giant fucking raccoon on its hind legs, arms straight up in the air staring at me. So I held both my grocery bags above my head and walked the rest of the way to the door while facing the thing. Staring directly into its eyes. It didn’t move and after I got inside.

Was on this camp program when I was 11, run by the (british) military. They took kids 11-18 and went into the mountains for two weeks, and did a mix of mountain biking, white water rafting, and paintballing. Everyone slept in cots, split by gender, in a big tent. I was one of the first awake one morning, and went to the next door tent where everyone kept all their supplies to try and find my toiletries. In the center of this tent, sat a f*cking baby bear cub. I did a quadruple take before I ran off to find one of the camp guides. They called park rangers who eventually took this cub.
