21 People Tragically Stumbled Upon A Dead Body

I was in high school. My friends and I had been going from place to place that night and had repeatedly passed by a truck in an otherwise empty parking lot with its lights on and driver’s side door open. Late that night, after our 4th time seeing this truck, we finally decided to go check it out. It was around 3am or so. We parked and walked up to it. First, I saw the man slumped over in the driver’s seat. My first thought was that he was passed out drunk. Then I saw the blood splattered on the rear window of the cabin. The man had shot himself.

Found my dad dead in his apartment, parents were divorced so I didn’t live with him. He didn’t answer his phone for 2 days then it went straight to voicemail 2 days after no luck locating him I went to his apartment. Car was in the garage and newspapers were in front of the door, he was dead for at least 4 days during a hot Midwestern summer. The smell and last memories I have of my father are horrifying.

I was walking home from my night shift job. A Co worker and I would cut through the trail. It was 6am and we came into this clearing. We saw a young woman maybe 16, sitting propped up next to a fallen tree. Her clothes were loose, strange placements, & underdressed for 40 degrees. There was frost on her eyelashes & hair, the tips of her fingers were bluish black. We were startled by the police and fire Dpt coming through the path. This girl died in the middle of the night from alcohol poisoning. She was taken out in the woods by a male at the same party, he took her from the house some how, raped her in the woods but when she passed out he left her there, barely dressed in the 30 degree December night succumbed to the elements of the cold and died of hypothermia.

When I was younger, I was a lifeguard for a program visiting a local beach and we discovered a body had washed up. It was horrifying and the bloated face of that woman will haunt me forever. I had nightmares for months.
