I went to a party, approached a girl that I had never met and asked her to dance. I didn’t then nor do I now dance. Ever. I was glad she said no, because the dance wasn’t the point. I made some joke about being shot down, and then I told her to have a good night and went back upstairs with my friends. She came up later and gave me her number, and the rest is history.

She came up and talked to me. She was from Ecuador, I’m from a small farm town in Indiana. We were vastly different people. She came up and talked to me and at first I was shy. An insanely hot South American girl talking to me? Unheard of! Well she understood I was an introvert, she pushed through the awkwardness because she says she likes how I’m different. It took me almost 2 months to get comfortable with her but she beared through it. 2 Years later, we’re still together.

She was a friend of a friend. I met her and knew I wanted to get to know her better. I made sure my school schedule followed her’s as close as possible. I got in the select choir because she played piano for it. I befriended all of her friends. Every step meticulously planned except for our first real date. I asked her if she wanted to get a smoothie after a choir performance. She said yes. None of her other friends came with and 3 years later, we are engaged.
