These 23 People Wish They Could Forget These Embarrassing Puberty Moments

5.

I hit puberty before most of my friends, but as a die-hard tomboy I was pretty much in denial about the fact that I had noticable breasts. The summer before 6th grade I went to summer camp, and had just come back to my cabin from swimming when I found one of my friends wearing my raincoat with two balled up socks stuffed in for boobs, parading around and immitating me while my other friends laughed. Humiliation doesn’t describe how I felt at that moment… I’m actually friends with that girl on Facebook now, and she’s still pretty flat-chested so- suck it Kizzy.

I was 14 when my grandfather died. We had to dress up nice for the funeral but the only pair of dress slacks that I had were too small and polyester. I begged my mother to stop at a store on the way because I knew what was going to happen but she wouldn’t. As you might suspect from a 14 year old boy I had sporadic hardons almost the entire day. I had to walk around trying to hide it the best I could but with little success. My grandmother was probably the sweetest woman I have ever met. She pulled me aside at the wake at my uncle’s house and told me not to worry about it. For a young man my age it’s perfectly normal.

The second or third time I got my period I bled through my pad at lunch. It was very obvious, so I lied and said I sat on some ketchup packets. Middle-schoolers will believe anything.

I thought period blood would be bright red, but when I first got mine at twelve it was more of a brownish color. Cue me thinking for a week I was getting really intense skid marks, getting more and more worried that something was seriously wrong, and culminating in me going to my dad for help. To this day, our most awkward conversation ever.
