UPDATE: Demi Lovato OD’d After An ‘All-Night Party’ And Partygoers Were Nowhere In Sight When Paramedics Arrived

UPDATE: According to TMZ, “Lovato’s overdose came at the end of a party at her home that lasted all night, but when EMTs and police arrived to help her, the partygoers were nowhere in sight.”

Sources told the publication that when first responders arrived at Lovato’s home, they were told there had been a party. Members of her team were present when paramedics arrived but could not provide any information regarding what drugs Lovato overdosed on.

“It’s unclear when the party broke up, or if people scattered once it became apparent Demi was in trouble,” writes TMZ. “The night before the emergency, Demi was at the Saddle Ranch restaurant/bar celebrating the birthday of one of her backup dancers and she seemed happy and lucid. We don’t know if the people who were at her home were part of the group that partied at Saddle Ranch.”

Demi Lovato is awake and stable after being taken to a hospital for an opioid overdose in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

“Demi is awake and with her family, who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support,” the singer’s representatives said in a statement to CNN. “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”

Law enforcement initially reported Lovato had overdosed on heroin. Though she was given Narcan, which immediately counters the effects of opioids, a source close to the pop star told TMZ that heroin was not to blame (though they did not reveal what drug caused the OD).

Page Six reported that the Los Angeles Police Department had responded to a “medical emergency” at the star’s residence at 11:40 AM PST Tuesday.

Lovato, 25, has always been vocal about her addiction to drugs and alcohol. Less than one month ago she released a new song “Sober,” which revealed to fans that she had broken her sobriety after nearly 6 years off alcohol, cocaine and Oxycontin.

Lovato performed at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles with Iggy Azalea last Sunday and was scheduled to go on the road this week for a show in Atlantic City.

“To the ones who never left me / We’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore,” sings Lovato, on “Sober.” The pop star broke down during her first live performance of the song at the Rock in Rio Lisboa festival. “And I’m sorry for the fans I lost / Who watched me fall again / I want to be a role model, but I’m only human.”

The singer is said to be stable, alert, and breathing in Cedars Sinai Medical Center, according to multiple outlets.

Fans and celebrities have been taking to social media to support Lovato in this difficult time.
