Demi Lovato is stable and waiting for her discharge from a Los Angeles hospital after a drug overdose last week. The pop star had overdosed on drugs after partying all night with friends, needing Narcan to stop the OD.
A representative for Lovato and her family had released this statement following the OD:
Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everytone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy.
Now, TMZ reports that the singer is set to be released from the hospital this week, and had been held so long because of the severity of the OD. Sources told TMZ that the overdose was so bad, she was on the verge of dying.
Now, fans and family are staging plans to have Demi enter rehab immediately following her discharge. TMZ also reports that even those who work for Demi are threatening to quit if she doesn’t get some help. The source told the outlet:
She could die if she doesn’t, and that’s not going to be on my watch that we did nothing.
According to Entertainment Tonight, her family is trying to push a live-in rehab to get her back on her feet and away from those who could have fed her drug problems.
Demi is recovering and her loved ones are so incredibly thankful she has pulled through. They know how lucky she is to be alive and are relieved she’s getting another chance. Her family is going to do everything in their power to help get Demi back on track and are making plans to get her straight into rehab. She is a fighter and has beat this in the past, so they know she can live a clean and sober life again. Her mother is by her side.
