Emilia Clarke Posted A Heartbreaking Goodbye To ‘Game Of Thrones’ And Yes, We’re Crying

As all “Game of Thrones” fans know, Season Eight will be the final season of our favorite HBO series that we have become infatuated with.
From Season One losing our beloved Ned Stark, to seeing our remaining Starks reunited last season, we’ve been on one hell of a ride. Season Seven, of course, left us with a ton of unanswered questions that we’re just dying to figure out (like, WTF is going to happen with Jon Snow and Dany?!?) Currently, the cast and crew are finishing up their final scenes and saying goodbye to their beloved characters one last time. Obviously, for many, it’s devastating.

Emilia Clarke, our Mother of Dragons, has been highly emotional over leaving behind her character Daenerys Targaryen–aka Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons. Not only is our Khaleesi sad to say goodbye, but we are, too. Clarke posted a sentimental Instagram post this week saying:

Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade.
It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing #lastseasonitis

Other members of the cast are finding ways to say their own goodbyes, like Sophie Turner–aka The Sansa Stark–who got a tattoo to represent her journey throughout the years as a Stark.

First tattoo back home! Thank you so much for getting this from me @sophiet ! ? bad ass !

Fans are obviously getting pretty emotional over having to say goodbye to Game of Thrones and all of our favorite characters.

Same, y’all, same.
