Ryan Phillippe And Reese Witherspoon Basically Made Clones Of Themselves

Making a baby is basically taking DNA from two people, smooshing them together, and putting a mix of those them out into the world. It’s not that shocking that this tiny baby would look like their much larger parents, but there’s still something shocking about a kid who looks exactly like their mom or dad that is a little freaky. Maybe it makes people think too much about being replaced? Few children conjure that primal fear like Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon’s do.

Phillippe and Witherspoon met in 1997, married two years later, and divorced in 2006. Their union created two lovely kids, 19-year-old Ava and 14-year-old Deacon. It’s been marked many times how much Ava looks exactly like Reese Witherspoon. It’s weird to say that a daughters resemblance to her mother is “uncanny,” since again, that’s what’s supposed to kinda happen—but it IS uncanny! Look at her:

And here’s Reese as a kid for further comparison:

Pretty clear who has the dominant gene pool in this family. But wait. A new clone is entering the ring.

Ryan Phillippe shared a photo of himself with Ava and Deacon, and now people can’t get over how much of a mini-me Deacon is next to his dad. They even have teh same hair tustle and glasses. Are they sharing a stylist or genetic code?

People are shocked to see the cloning runs in the family:

My honest theory is that both Ryan and Reese look a whole lot like male and female versions of each other, so their children had no way of looking like a mix of two different people. They’re bound to resemble their mom and dad, because even a unique combination of the two yields the same result. That’s called Science.
