This week, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West–along with their families–celebrated the 5th birthday of their daughter, North West.
The couple’s first child together happens to be mixed–as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are a biracial couple. Kim has said in the past that she had to learn how to style North’s hair from when she was very young because the textures are completely different from her own. But, she was determined to learn how to do her daughter’s hair and met with several stylists to get tips and pointers.
But, this week for her 5th birthday, North stepped out serving up some looks. And, we can’t believe how big she’s gotten.
Obviously, she looks adorable (and, just like her mom!). But, some people were pretty angry that Kim Kardashian allowed her daughter to straighten her hair at such a young age. Others were angry that Kim “refused” to let North rock her natural hair.

Random opinion: I hate that Kim straightens North’s hair. She’s a mixed child and she should embrace her natural hair. Idk If I have a mixed child I would want them to embrace their natural hair and not fall under the pressure of having to have “straight” hair to look nice.
