Umm, So Cardi B And Offset Have Apparently Been Married For Months

Many fans know that rapper Cardi B and rapper/producer Offset have been dating since the beginning of 2017 when they went public with their relationship.

The two, who have been pretty vocal about their relationship, got engaged in front of fans after Offset proposed on stage at a concert put together by Power 99 in October 2017.

In April 2018, Cardi B stepped out on the Saturday Night Live stage to share some big news with the entire world–that she and Offset were pregnant with their first child. After denying reports that she was expecting, she owned this moment and made it her own.

Fans have been wondering one thing–when are the two going to get married? And, many have asked Cardi if she and Offset had any plans to push the wedding up after finding out their baby news. But, as it turns out, the two are already married. According to a document obtained by TMZ, the two tied in the knot in Fulton County, GA in September 2017–before their “public engagement” and their baby news. WHAT?!?

The certificate that TMZ shared features both artists full names–Kiari Kendrell Cephus and Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar––and shows that they were married on September 20, 2017…nine months ago.

According to TMZ, fans were wondering if the two were already married after Offset “thanked his wife” after winning an award at the BET Awards this week. The rapper got on stage and said:

“I thank God, I thank my wife, you should thank yours.”

Cardi B won a few awards herself, but she was unable to attend the show due to doctor’s orders as her due date approaches. She did, however, thank fans for voting for her by posting an Instagram video on her profile–but did not mention the marriage news.

TMZ reported that the two originally got married “on a whim,” AKA on the day Offset asked Cardi for her hand in marriage. It was so sudden that they got married in their bedroom. Sources told TMZ that Offset woke up, asked Cardi to marry him, and they got an officiant to come to the house and do it that day. The source also confirmed that the “public engagement” wasn’t exactly Offset proposing, but him providing her with the “ring he had promised.”

Fans, of course, weren’t necessarily surprised that Cardi kept the “marriage news” to herself, seeing as her album is called “Invasion of Privacy,” and she has been outspoken about how fame has changed her life and made it more difficult to have her own, personal life behind-the-scenes. The couple has, however, said they will have an official wedding ceremony for their friends and family to attend after the baby is born.

It looks like “nine months” is a lucky number for this couple. Congrats to Cardi and Offset on their marriage!
