Lady Gaga has taken a page out of Kim Kardashian’s handbook this week by posting some pretty NSFW photos on Instagram. The pop singer, who has just scored herself a Las Vegas residency slot, has been pretty quiet in the spotlight after ending her Joanne World Tour–until now.
Gaga posted three back-to-back photos going completely nude and paying credit to photographer Eli Russell Linnetz.
Some believe that Gaga’s risque return to the spotlight may hint at some brand new music. In the past–looking back at Gaga’s major albums–she has left “roughly a two-year gap between each.”‘ The Fame’ (2008), ‘The Fame Monster’ (2009), ‘Born this way’ (2011),’ ARTPOP’ (2014), ‘Cheek to Cheek’ (2015) and ‘Joanne’ (2016). Now, with two years going by since Joanne was released, fans anticipate some new music with her Vegas residency.
However, not everyone was a fan of Gaga’s “tasteless” self-promotion. Some said the photos were straight-up inappropriate.
Some people said it “didn’t make sense.”
Others said she was “copying Madonna again.”
And, others said that it was just awful.
Of course, there were those who were “obsessed” with the nude photos, and thought it was some sneak peaks at the behind-the-scenes footage from her tour–or, even some hints towards new music. Either way, it’s definitely a way to grab everyone’s attention.
