Have you ever traveled back to a place you visited when you were in a completely different time in your life? Seems like I’ve been doing a lot of that this year and it’s kind of surreal. I first visited Cape Town about 8 years ago on a solo backpacking trip through SA (which sparked my first online journals on tumblr). It was the first time I’d intentionally traveled to an African city outside of Cameroon and remains one of the inspirations behind why I decided to move back to Africa. It was also a time when I felt like I was failing at a lot of things and had really low self esteem.
