This Absolute Legend Married Herself And Used A Mirror To Recite Her Vows

There are some people that are so scared of getting hurt, they decide to stay single rather than get into a relationship with someone else. There are also some people who believe that the best way to avoid divorce is to avoid marriage altogether.

But, apparently, there are those who think that the best way to protect yo’ neck (and your heart) is to commit yourself to a relationship with no one else but yourself.

One woman decided that the best way to honor her love and respect for herself was to say “I do” to her own reflection. 34-year-old Linda Doktar from Australia had an entire beach wedding ceremony–with guests–to celebrate dedicating her life and her heart to…herself.

According to an interview she did with Metro, the newly married woman got the idea from a friend of hers who is a relationship coach. Apparently, her friend had performed these self-marriage ceremonies in the past and thought it would be a great idea for Linda, as she has struggled with self-esteem issues and a lack of self-love.

‘I thought this was a beautiful concept to symbolize my journey into loving and honoring myself on a deeper level.

I believe that the most important relationship I will ever have is with myself.

I know and understand that the quality of the relationship we have with ourselves determines the quality of experiences we have with others.

Not only did she have a ceremony on the beach with a red satin runway, rose petals, and the traditional white wedding gown, Linda also recited vows to herself using a handheld mirror.

Ej asked me to write my vows and commitments for my special day. She also asked me to choose a dress and a song that would mean a lot to me.

According to LadBible, Linda decided to go on a journey of self-discovery after she went through a bad breakup. She had gone through a hella rough patch in terms of self-esteem and dedicated her life to self-reflection and retrained herself to learn how to love who she is. She now has her own website and business where she helps others do the same.

She doesn’t necessarily believe that she’ll never date anyone again–but, she said that moving forward, she’s putting her relationship with herself first above anything else. We see you, sis. Keep up the self-love train.
