Why A Rechargeable Vibrator Is 100% Worth Your Money

Look, owning a vibrator is just a fact of life when you’re a woman between the ages of 24-35. In a world where enjoyable bouts of sex can be far and few between, a lady needs to have her contingency plan on hand (so to speak).

However: if you’re a vibrator fan who has yet to switch over to rechargeable sex toys, then I am here to convert you.

While many people scoff at the notion of paying a significant amount of money for a sex toy, most of those people are guys, whose masturbatory tastes are as simplistic and uninventive as meat and potatoes. Women know that having a reliable vibrator in your nightstand is absolutely necessary, particularly when you’re going through a bit of a sexual lull. And, if you’re going to have a vibrator, why not buy one that’s actually going to last and be worth the investment? (Like the rechargeable Vibease, pictured above.)

Having one will ultimately SAVE you money.

Battery-operated vibrators initially seem like a good idea because of their lower price points. the part of your brain that’s sheepish about shopping for a sex toy says, “Yes, take the cheapest possible option and let’s GTFO of here.” The thing is, anyone who owns a vibrator is bound to use it on a regular basis. (What, you’re just gonna say “No, thanks” to the possibility of a reliable orgasm?) If you use a battery-operated vibrator on a regular basis, it’s going to inevitably run out of juice — usually sooner rather than later.

Then, you’ll have to purchase batteries before you can use it again, and I’m here to tell you that the batteries found in small vibrators can actually be somewhat difficult to find (unless you’re willing to go back to a sex shop every time you need to restock). Plus, constantly buying more batteries for a product which ultimately uses them up like old tissues can become expensive over time.

A rechargeable option will certainly have a higher up-front cost, but the money (and frustration) it will save you over time is honestly worth it.

They’re generally higher quality.

Battery-operated vibrators tend to be a little … janky.

That’s not to cast aspersions on them! They’re great introductions into the world of sex toys when you’re a novice. But, at a certain point, you become more adult and you realize that maybe it’s worth it to actually invest in quality products. If you’re fussy about your skincare and haircare routine, why are you not fussy about the products that go near your genitals?

If it’s something you know you’re going to use frequently (*ahem*), then the general rule of thumb is that it’s okay to spend a little money on it (as long as it’s still within your means).

They’re more discreet.

Modern rechargeable vibrators have really gotten a stellar makeover. Instead of looking like giant, veiny penises or tacky plastic rabbits, they look for like vaguely suggestive modern art installations.

Like, seriously — is this a vibrator or some new kind of Fitbit. Who knows??

Babeland

This makes them slightly easier to travel with, as you’re not constantly terrified of someone stumbling upon them.

Besides — who doesn’t want the more aesthetically appealing version of a product?

It’s more convenient, dammit!

Look, the fact of the matter is, a vibrator running out of battery mid-foreplay is exceedingly frustrating, even more so if you’re on a “solo expedition.” After all, part of the appeal of a vibrator is the convenience factor — if you wanted to put in a lot of time and effort you could just go out and find yourself a man. (*Cue rimshot*)

It’s much easier to have a vibrator that you can just plug into a USB charger and forget about until you need it. The world may be an unreliable place, but knowing where your next orgasm is coming from shouldn’t be.

(And yes, that will probably be my campaign slogan when I run for office.)
