17 People Admit the Worst Thing They’ve Done To a Server

I had a server bring me a glass with soap in it (she cleaned the glass herself then used it without rinsing, we saw her clean it without rinsing, and there were bubbles at the top). She forgot to refill our drinks numerous times, at a restaurant that has “bottomless refills” and her section was almost empty, there were only about 5 tables and we could see her in the back sitting down. We would try to wave her over and she’d just get up and walk back into the kitchen.We left a note that said “we tip based on service, you earned it!” and left a $0.03 tip.

Called a waiter ‘fuctionally retarded’ when he took 17 minutes to get us drinks. Note that we were one of two tables in the whole place and this was my 5th such experience with him after already talking to his manager another time and telling him that this guy was the worst waiter I’ve ever had.

Our server spilled hot coffee on my two year old brother. We didn’t leave a tip.

I was sitting in a booth that was slightly elevated from the rest of the floor. So the server was taking our drink order and after placing my order I went to adjust my sitting position, as I was doing so my foot slipped (had been snowing, wet shoes) and I booted her right in the shin. I was pretty embarrassed and apologized profusely. She was able to laugh it off and we made it into a running joke for the rest of the meal. But for the next 15 minutes you could see her walking around with a bit of a limp.
