Ah, road trips. They’re always a good idea, no matter what season. There’s nothing better than going out on the open road, with every intention of listening to the hours-long playlist you’ve prepared, and watching the sights go by until you get to your destination.
Driving across country, being in the middle of nowhere, service going in and out, and unbelievable situations culminate into some unforgettable stories. It’s always fun to watch the scenery change as you go from state to state, listening to that audio book you’ve saved specifically for this trip.
And let’s be clear, road trips with friends are probably more memorable than with your family but still, they’re pretty f*cking rad. Plus, your dad probably did all the driving while you got to whine and ask “Are we there yet?” (which I’m sure he’s resented you for all these years). I was driving on a major interstate highway in North Jersey. A car was riding next to me and keeping pace with my truck. I casually looked down and the driver was getting a blow job from a naked woman who must have weighed in at around 350 lbs.

Back in the 70s I hitchhiked from Florida to Washington DC. I got picked up by a guy who had a trunk full of pot and was running on a stolen credit card.

Friend and I were driving on the highway in his super old Toyota Tercel mid december and were both getting heavy eyed, and slurring words. Decided to pull over for a bite to eat, and felt better once the cold air woke us up. Once we’re on the road again we start feeling super drowsy again, so I roll down the window, and feel better instantly. Got home and we inspected the car… there was a hole that had appeared due to rust under a seat in the back, and Carbon Monoxide was filling the interior.

My best friend and I took his girlfriend and her best friend on a road trip. We were all 21-22 years old and determined to be the after picture for the next “this is your brain on drugs” commercial. The best party was driving on the freeway in Houston with him and his girlfriend naked and having sex in the back seat. We picked up a few devoted followers for those 30 minutes.
