An uncle of mine was killed on the job. He was driving a road roller and for whatever reason was not wearing his safety harness. As he was driving something happened that caused him to be thrown off and you can imagine the rest. My parents were not amused when I asked if he popped up after like in the cartoons, while giggling under my breath. I was 9 when this happened.

I had a family friend who died while on the toilet. He had a heart attack, and died right there. I was at his house immediately after it happened, and helped console his wife. I’ve never felt the urge to laugh about it, and I’m reminded of it every time someone makes an Elvis joke.

A family friend bled to death from a bad case of hemorrhoids. All I could think of at the time was “MY ANUS IS BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDING!!!!” That aside, please let this be a PSA: if your anus is bleeding, please don’t worry about being embarrassed. Please go to the doctor or hospital, it could save your life.
