Two friends and I were getting onto the metro in Paris and his friend from school was on the other side of the door. On all the subways in the world he was on the exact same one.

I went to Alaska for a week or so after graduating from high school. One of the activities was a whitewater rafting trip. I walked up to get my drysuit, and was handed it by my high school calculus teacher’s daughter, who was an occasional substitute teacher at my school.

I went to a spanish school in Quito, Ecuador and met some guy who lived about 30 mins away from me in Canada

I used to be friends with a kid whose last name is Fokkink. Like Fokker, it’s a normal last name in the Netherlands. I had a friend who went backpacking in Australia for a year, a while ago. She happened to be on msn at the same time as me, so we were talking about her trip and other random stuff. I mentioned to her that I used to know someone who lived in Australia, who had to introduce herself as Lotte Fokkink (say it out loud), because that is her name. She was like, “I think I know her brother”. Turns out she had met and hung out with a kid I was friends with when I was like 8 or so, on the other side of the world.

Turns out one of my best friend’s dad was my dad’s college roommate. They (my dad and his college roommate) haven’t talked since college about 30 years ago (due to lack of staying in touch) and just recently met when I invited my friend’s family over.
