We’ve got a very rude regular who always wants help but god help you if you give it. I made a product suggestion for her at one point and her response was “you have no idea what you’re doing, do you? Clearly you’re not qualified to help anyone.” I very quickly walked away.

Doing makeup on guys for plays is so challenging. I did it a few years ago for a production. The guys would keep blinking or moving their eyes around so much that I couldn’t get a straight line, it kept smudging, and of course they got poked in the eye because they couldn’t sit still. Doing makeup on the girls who had never worn makeup before was also a similar experience.

Had a woman who was not happy with anything. Bronzer is too bronze. Nude lipstick is too nude. Blush gives her too much color. Bronzer is still too bronze. By the time she left literally the entire beauty studio was stacked about three high with lipsticks, foundations, blushes, bronzers, everything. She had about half the testers in the store stacked up that we tried…and then didn’t buy a damn thing.

One that comes to mind is a woman who came in and demanded that I match her to a foundation shade (without swatching anything on her), then told me she “would come back and cut me” if it didn’t match. I nervously chuckled when she said it, but she was staring me dead in the eyes, straight faced. I sold her my best guess, and kept my fingers crossed. And called mall security.
