I watched that real dolls documentary a while ago, and the main thing that set me off: these men see the dolls as replacements for women, and don’t seem to view women as anything but moving sex dolls (but with more needs, so annoying amirite?). They all seemed to dehumanize women with how they are so confident that their doll gives them everything a real woman could give them, and eliminates them putting any effort into a relationship. It just seems like a mega creepy, misogynistic tool for men who don’t want to bother treating women like equal human beings.

I think it’s sad. I am totally down with a guy having sex toys as masturbation aids, but to me this is trying to replace the missing emotional connection of being with a live woman. It’s clearly more than just a way to orgasm. I would feel sad for someone who has one and feel like maybe they didn’t get enough hugs as a child.
