The 17 Absolute Worst Divorces Imaginable

My “ex-mother” or “incubator” as I now refer to her spent all of the savings that were supposed to be used for my college education causing me to have to finance the last 2.5 years myself, she didn't pay the credit card bill that was used to buy my books and emergency expenses, and she took my vehicle as part of the divorce settlement, leaving me without a way to go back and forth. Add in my dad having to pay $50k plus material goods and he wasn't able to help.

When my now step-father divorced his first wife, he had to pay her $20,000 and she kept the house. He rented a small dump truck and dumped $20,000 in dimes in the front yard.

I left my Ex when I realized that she was a delusional and a closed-minded bi-polar religious nut. I realized that I could not raise our infant daughter safely with her in the house. I had not prepared for the split. Immediately after I left, she cleaned out the bank account (almost $40,000) and used the cash to buy jewelry and to get a lawyer who sued me and got the County of Santa Clara to make me pay her about $3500/month in alimony and child support even though I had lost my last freelance contract 2 months earlier and had no good job prospects.
