The fact that the earth is a giant round ball and not flat. Even as a kid the idea that the earth was flat and you could sail or fall off its edge was ridiculous to me.

There are so many more than just our galaxy. I went to a planetarium with my mom and when we left she said, “Wow! I had no idea there are so many galaxies! I thought there was only one.”

You can’t see the Great Wall of China from space, and certainly not from the moon. Space is a long distance away, but the wall, while long, is only about 10 meters wide at the widest point. Spotting the wall would be like spotting a strand of hair from two miles away.
