These 17 Wedding Photographers Dealt With Crappy Clients

I am still getting my name out with photography, and I used Craigslist for free advertisement. I found this one lady, that had very little money and just wanted some easy stuff. I said yes, and asked if we could meet and talk things out. I met her, and everything went smoothly. I took the day off from my other job and about 3 hours she calls before I’m about to show up. She found a deal online where she can get a photobooth. So instead of me, she bought a photobooth. She did her entire wedding with a photobooth, and from that I’ve learned to always have a contract for when stuff like this stuff happens.

I was at a wedding (second shooting) and a guest walked right up to me and said, “I’m going to grab your ass right now unless you tell me not to.” I flashed her my wedding ring and said, “I’m married. Don’t think my wife would like that very much.” and laughed it off. She looks up at me and says, “I’m married, too” and flashes me her wedding ring. I b-lined it out of there. The other photographer walked up to her and told her to stay away from me for the rest of the night or she’d kick her a**. Normally this stuff is said in jest, but this girl was a little scary and serious.

I’m the worst about doing free shoots for friends, but a whole wedding I would definitely charge. They don’t realize how much time and effort it takes to get great photos and do all the editing. I did a free engagement shoot and later got so upset with myself for doing so.
