These 19 People Witnessed Someone Die

Last year my stepson died of a embolism in the hallway of our house. I was cradling his head in my arms when he died. I can't really explain how, because at the time I didn't know what caused him to collapse but I knew the moment he was gone. The paramedics arrived VERY quickly and began CPR, but somehow I knew it was fruitless. I began preparing myself for his mother's reaction. That was one of the most difficult days of my life.

I have put pieces of my best friend in a black bag. I was on a patrol in Iraq, when an IED exploded underneath him. Being a medic, I wish there was more that I could have done. However, seeing a face before it turns into absolute nothingness is about the worst thing I have ever had to deal with.

I was on a boat with my friend, fishing. It was twilight-ish out. We see a low profile boat with a girl standing up and a guy sitting. Another boat comes flying out of control and uses the boat with the 2 kids as a ramp. So, ofcourse, we go over. By the time we approached another boat got there before us. The on-looker boat guy goes, “Don't even look at her, man”. The boy was on his back gasping, looking straight up, vapid. Blood trickling out of his ears. The girl was on her back. Bottom jaw up was just a mass of hair with concave shaped skull fragments stuck in it. No brains, no face and no blood. Just hair and bone. Her nails were painted. We were about 5 ft away, so the vantage point was pretty close.
