These 19 People Witnessed Someone Die

I was out rock climbing when I saw someone pretty much fall down dead. The only people about were his mate, and me and my mate. Me and my mate were both student paramedics at the time, so we ran over and started CPR, which we continued until an ambulance and helicopter arrived 30-40 minutes later. Me and my mate both knew he was gone but there wasn't much else to be done than keep going with CPR until backup arrived. It was deeply unpleasant, and very upsetting. CPR in general is unpleasant – I'll save the details, but it's not that great doing it on a dead body.

I saw a man step in front of a train, he was in pieces. I was waiting to be picked up on the deck of the station listening to music. He walked up, looked me in the eyes and smiled then just waited at the edge until the train that was running through the station to come and stepped off. I was then stuck in traffic with my girlfriend at the time for three hours on the way to her house, she didn't really want to talk about it so I avoided saying anything.

I was 12 and my brother was 17. We were running to the bus stop because we were late, it was hellish cold. We got to the bus just in time, and as soon as we got there my brother took his usual seat at the front of the bus. I then proceeded to take my usual seat at the very back row. About 15 minutes later, the commotion got my attention and kids started screaming. Apparently my brother wasn't responsive, they took him off the bus, put him on the frozen ground ripped his shirt off and tried doing CPR. I watched him on the floor freezing while he went into cardiac arrest. He was dead by the time the ambulance got to him.
