19 Utterly Absurd Requests From The Bride and Groom

My cousin called us all to dinner and did a “bridesmaid proposal”. She then told us that we were going dress shopping THE NEXT DAY and we had to be there or we couldn’t be in the wedding. The wedding wasn’t for another year. A couple girls had to call into work, but we were all family so saying no would have been a kiss of death to our aunt. The only bridesmaid that was a friend dropped out after that.

My college roommate invited me to his wedding in Vegas. I live in Colorado, so attending this wedding already required me to travel & pay for a hotel. The invitation specified that the group should book their reservation at Aria under a certain group code to receive a discounted rate. Their discounted room rate is over $300/night. When I told him I simply could not afford to pay for round trip flights & a hotel room for 3 nights at $300/night he flipped his shit. He said that we all needed to be in the same hotel for ease of plans. I later found out that the groom was so pushy about everyone staying at Aria because the bride & groom received a free hotel room if 7 hotel rooms were booked under their discount code.

Got asked to go to a wedding during culinary school for a hs friend. She said instead of gifts she wanted us to help with various wedding things instead, like someone help with the flowers, etc. She asked if I could help with dinner. I said sure, & asked her what she wanted help with. She wanted me to handle the whole dinner, as in cooking for 200 people. Me, a 19 year old. She also wanted me to help pay for the food I’d be making. She wanted me sides & roast enough ducks for 200, by myself, & pay for about half of it. I told her there wasn’t any feasible way I could do it, not only because that’s crazy, but because I literally wasn’t trained to do it, I WAS 19. I got disinvited from the wedding.
