21 Disturbing Truths About Marriage

17.

You can’t be selfish or else you will ruin your marriage. On my own I could do what I want, when I want. Make life altering choices and just go anywhere. Marriage means making choices together (some are much harder than others.)

18.

In almost all cases, one of you is going to die first. The other goes on, just sadly waiting to join.

19.

You get to a point where temptation will be a factor. You know, things aren’t going well at home and the new person in the office starts paying you lots of attention but you’re married. You get a little resentful because you miss feeling that “connection” one thing leads to another and you’ve cheated on your wife or husband. It takes a lot of trust in someone to hope and trust that they wouldn’t, and this is why communication is so so so important. I would hope that in my relationship if my SO truly felt that they wanted to sleep with someone else they would trust me enough to bring it up and we could make an arrangement.

20.

When your dating, you have sex 5-6 times a day. When you’re married 1-2 times a week. When you have kids, Jergens and a tissue.

21.

Most people just marry the person they are dating around the time all their friends are getting married.
