21 Sob Stories that Were Actually Fake

I was friends with this girl who sometimes seemed a little odd but nothing too weird. One day she calls me because she had a bad day and I invited her over. She proceeds to tell me this story about being really sick and nauseous so she went to the store for sprite, then left her money in the car and had to go back out to get it, only to throw up once she was back in the store, then got pulled over and got a ticket on her way home. About 30 minutes later her mom calls… She tells the story to her mom, right in front of me, with about half of the story happening differently. I later found out she told 3 or 4 other friends and each story was slightly different.

One of my ex friends had moved here from Massachusetts. She claimed she’d had a miscarriage before, and that she hadn’t had a good life. So everybody was nice to her and let her join the group/fit in (this was drama club btw). 2 months later she tells a few of us that she slept with a freshman, (he was 13, she was 16) and that she was pregnant again. Cue all us babying her, taking care of everything that she needed and giving tons of emotional support. But something was off: she was smoking and drinking like nothing was wrong. I asked and she said everything was fine and nothing would happen. We come to find out she was lying about being pregnant, and about her previous miscarriage.

I got a heartfelt plea for money for food because the guy hadn’t eaten in over a day and didn’t know what else to do but beg. Mentioned he was so embarrassed to be begging. I felt genuinely bad. There was a burrito joint right behind us so I said “hey come with me I’ll buy you a burrito”. He gives me a crooked look while saying “F*ck that” as he walked away.

My grandmother has, on occasion, faked a heart condition in order to get upgrades in hotels.

Guy that mom dated claimed that his wife and infant child were killed in a car accident; he was so upset that he chopped down a bunch of trees that had blocked the road where they died. She meets his family and learns that he was never married, nor did he chop down any trees. He ended up being a pathological liar and she sent him on his way.
