23 Introverts Share How They Found Love

A controlling friend of mine assigned our Secret Santas. Presumably because she did not know me well at the time, she gave me another name that she didn’t know (it is common knowledge that she had rigged it). I Facebook stalked the person I was assigned to and found out that he was in the Music program with the rest of us (a guitarist), so I decided to buy him thumb picks, because I didn’t want to be lame and just get him regular picks. Knowing him or not, I still try to give thoughtful gifts. The day we exchanged gifts was the first time I met him. It’s been a little over a year since then, and I have never felt this way about anyone.

At a night club. He managed to make me feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation.

We met on a school bus – I was in kindergarten and he was in first grade. He was mean and threw paper at me. Fast forward to the teenage years, I met him again through a friend. We stayed good friends for a few years. Then one day I called him up and asked him to come over. We’ve been inseparable ever since.

My now partner started coming up to my (grad school) dorm room, and stayed late at night (like past 2-3am) talking with me. At the time, I was wondering why she wasn’t getting tired and why she wanted to hang out so much (I would later find out that she is not a late night person at all). Eventually we start watching episodes of 24, in our own chairs (I later find out that she thinks the show is stupid). One day I asked if she wanted to watch on my bed because it’s more comfortable. Sometime later she mentions that she somehow scratched her finger. I take a look and she ends up holding my hand and snuggling close. That was almost four years ago, and she still doesn’t believe that I was so oblivious!
