23 People’s Experiences Show Why Concerts Suck

Jack White at Radio City Music Hall in 2012. He played for 45 minutes and made remarks throughout about the audience being flat. I can tell you that the crowd was very into seeing him and there was a real electricity in the theater pre-show. But he started with bad attitude, chastised the crowd between songs, and then just left. It was so abrupt, we thought it was an intermission. The crowd sat there for about 15 minutes before the house lights came up and it was announced that Jack White has finished the show and was not coming back. The crowd started chanting F*ck Jack White, and tearing up their ticket stubs. Most tickets when for over $100 each. We had gone to NYC for the weekend, paid for a hotel, parking, etc., in addition to the ticket prices, just to get blown off by a self-indulgent, sullen, prima-donna.

Public Enemy, “Tour Of Peace And Unity”. It was a last second booking at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Clearly PE had created a new record label, as we sat through more than two hours of one horrible new rap act after another, after which Chuck and Flav came out and did a 6 minute medley, said “We’ll be back later this year for a REAL concert” and then left. A**holes totally ripped us off.

Saw Flo Rida because my girlfriend wanted to go. Ended up getting punched in the nose by a male stripper. No more concerts.

I saw Islands in Portland. All was well until 4 songs into the set the singer asked for his mic to be turned up. (Honestly the sound was fine) The sound guy motioned he couldn’t. So the singer took a rational course of action. He threw a damn hissy fit. Threw his mic to the ground, pushed his band members aside and left. The rest of the band kept playing unsure what to do… The lead guitarist went back to get him. The singer came back but put on a shitty and lazy performance as a f*ck you to the place.
