So, it’s fall now. That means the weather’s getting colder and you’re going to want to find a snuggle buddy ASAP. If you live where it’s frigidly cold, that also means you need to have some sort of heating device in your house or you’re f*cked. But it should be a given that if you’re anywhere in those parts, that should be a given.

You may even have a fireplace in your home, which will be extra convenient for all the cuddling you’ll hopefully be doing with your significant other. If there’s no significant other, then let’s hope there’s a pet that’s equally into cuddling as you are. If not, then who gives a sh*t? Because you have a damn fireplace and don’t need no one.

All that firewood is coming from somewhere to warm you up, though. Thanks to all of the people that tirelessly chop firewood so those of us that can’t do it can stay warm inside with a mug of hot cocoa or warm apple cider. And those that do the dirty work have found some time on their hands to make their job a little more entertaining than just the analog repetition of chopping wood. Behold, the art of firewood stacking.

These 25 photos show the intricacies of firewood stacking:

1.

This is so meta. A tree shaped out of stacked firewood? Mind. Blown.

2.

“Only you can prevent forest fires.” – Smokey the Bear. This ain’t Smokey though, it’s his cousin.

3.

Here’s a giant fish made out of stacked firewood. Insert dog for size reference, of course.

But how does everything stay in place?

Um, I want to leave here, please and thank you.
