Mistake #2: Signing a lease on the cheapest place you can find
It’s practically free for a reason – no one else wants it. A budget is a budget, but there are other things that matter, like the number of drive-by shootings and discarded heroin needles. Be sure to check out your potential new neighborhood – and even knock on some doors – to find out what it’s really like to live in the area.
Mistake #3: Falling behind on bills
All your new responsibilities will probably be overwhelming at first, and something’s bound to slip through the cracks. Just don’t let ‘something’ be your electric bill. Or your credit card bill. There are consequences to that shit.
Don’t wait until the last minute to pay, either. It often takes companies a while to receive (and process) your payment.
