Most Men Are Unaware Of These 27 Things About A Woman’s Life

The amount of “not being taken seriously” I encounter everyday. Granted, living in Turkey, mine is probably more than the women in some other countries go through. About 50% of my appointments don’t show up. About 90% of them show up quite late. This always shocks male friends. “What do you mean people don’t show up?” They just don’t. They think it’s okay. They’re not scared of making me mad.

Judgement and social politics of skincare and makeup.

How hard it is to be the “ugly friend” in a group of beautiful women.

Overcoming the sometimes absolutely primal fear of pregnancy, and being constantly reduced to a walking womb, especially by male coworkers who are just trying to make small talk. “When are you going to have kids? You have a husband and a house, and you’re not so young anymore…” God, Jeff, I’m just trying to heat up my lunch here.

Constantly being condescended to about manual labor and the belief that we are incapable. The other week I got an estimate to change out the faucet on my kitchen sink because it had sprung a leak. I am a mid 20s woman who owns my own condo. The nice young gentleman wanted to charge me $700 to do (not including the faucet). AFTER telling me it would take him 30 minutes. No thank you sir, get out of my house. I proceeded to change the faucet myself that evening.
