TN tornado outbreak a couple of years ago. 2011 I think. It leveled parts of the state that had never been hit by something like that. Because of the mountains, we almost never get anything bad. Most of the local meteorologists said it was a once in a lifetime storm. A few of the hardest hit areas had tracks in the ground where the tornadoes had ripped up grass and dirt. Lots of neighborhoods had nothing but concrete slabs where houses used to be.

Mine was getting through the 2010 Middle Tennessee floods. I was in Nashville and ended up being stuck there for three days before I could make it back to my university for finals week.

1989 Hurricane Hugo. I was actually in the mountains of western North Carolina when a weakened but still powerful Hugo came blasting through. We were awakened in the night by doors slamming open from the wind and as soon as it was light they moved us to a more stable building right as the full force hit.

Hurricane Frederick. I was just a month or two old when it hit Pensacola. I was on a respirator and incubator (had all sorts of health problems when I was first born), and the power to the hospital went out. Had to run on generator power to keep me alive.
