I (female) slept with my male roommate several times over the course of a year. We started hooking up a few months after he moved in, and would end up getting drunk and fooling around once a month or so. It was honestly some of the funnest, most carefree sex of my life. I liked him more than he liked me, and we never ended up dating, but we did get to know each other well and have a really close friendship. We stopped hooking up and he went traveling for about 3 months, during which time I started another relationship, and a different girl moved into our house. The guy moved back in with us (there are also 2 other roomies), and now he and the new girl are happily dating, and I’m happy in my relationship. We are all still friends and it seems totally normal, just compatible people enjoying each others’ company.

If you’re both the kind of people who can have just a friends with benefits situation without drama or hurt feelings, then by all means go ahead. If you have any reason at all, even just a tiny hint, that things will get awkward afterward than just leave this one be. Alternatively, if you already have an escape plan like you’re moving out soon then that could also work.

Have sex with her, go out for a couple years, and get married. This will be a cool story to tell your kids.
