ICYMI–this week, SNL comedian Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande announced their engagement after only a few weeks of dating.
The two had met for the first time back in 2016 when Grande appeared on SNL as the guest host. After 2016, the two hardly had any “public relationship,” together–as both were in other relationships. Ariana Grande was in an on-again, off-again relationship with rapper Mac Miller, and Pete Davidson had been dating actress Cazzie David. Both relationships reportedly came to an end rather recently.
Then, Davidson and Grande began spending a lot of time together and commenting on each other's social media profiles frequently. Grande later confirmed their rumored relationship with an Instagram post.

A few weeks later, people claimed the two were engaged–and, it seems as though Ariana Grande confirmed the news to fans on Twitter.
As well, people have spotted Grande out wearing a $100,000+ engagement ring.
According to People Magazine, the two recently bonded over traumatic experiences in their lives having to do with terrorism and loss–Davidson had lost his father in 9/11, and Grande was the victim of a terrorist attack during her concert in Manchester in 2017. However, both Davidson and Grande recently got out of serious relationships–both of which ended in May of this year.
After the news of the couple's engagement made headlines, many people were fixated on how Mac Miller and Cazzie David would react–seeing as it's only been about a month since their relationships ended.
Fans believe that Cazzie David essentially “subbed” the couple on Instagram when she posted a photo of herself drinking wine in a South African wine valley.

If you were to ask any woman–if you found out your ex was engaged to a new girl just weeks after ending your 2-3 year relationship, the first thing you'd do is fly to a foreign country and drink endless bottles of wine (ideally). At least, I would.
