Luckily, this scheme was never approved – but just knowing that a bunch of suits actually sat around and debated carrying out terrorist actions against the American people is enough to make your skin crawl. (If you’re wondering, the plan was to blame Cuba, and use it as an excuse to invade).

Look familiar, Star Wars fans? (Yea, that’s a picture of Hoth. Or is it?? Hard to say since they look exactly the same).

Anyway, not too long ago, scientists built an underground city of tunnels deep into a Greenland iceberg. It had a gym. And a movie theatre. People lived there. Then the US military came along and said “mine!”

They turned it into a missile silo (because of course they did) but what with all the ice-chipping required to maintain it (imagine clearing off your windshield after a big storm, but times 1,000,000) they abandoned it.
