People Share Why They Quit a Job on The Spot

Crackhead threatened to kill me if he got one more complaint letter in his mailbox. I was just the groundskeeper. The boss got me to deliver all the letters, regardless of the content. This idiot was literally threatening to shoot the messenger. I walked into the boss’s office and quit on the spot. It was a bullsh*t job anyway. So much stress for so little pay. That was the last straw.

It was knife sales. I “got” the job and went to initial day of training. The first four hours (8-12) was a bunch of crazy sale tactics that bordered on un-ethical. Went up to the “manager” and just said I’m done. They proceeded to get all up in arms and say I did not want to become rich.

Not exactly on the spot, but I was hired at bath and body works, did the training, and did one half-shift (2 hours). Checked the online schedule daily for 3-4 weeks, was never on there, so I stopped checking. Another week and a half passes, and I get a call from the manager, asking if I was coming in for my shift. I told her no, because I hadn’t been scheduled for a month and a half, and I don’t care if I can’t get hired again.

I was told over conference call that my job as a Network Engineer was going to be moved overseas to an IT firm in India. I would be able to stay employed if I take a help desk role. I just turned in my admin smart cards and walked out. Did all my out processing with HR over email.
