17. A little kindness goes a long way.

Typically, if a customer seems tired or morose, and I greet them with a smile, they smile back. They might even strike up a conversation. I react the same way when a customer greets me kindly.

Just because this is a business transaction doesn’t mean it has to be cold and meaningless. We’re people, so please treat us as such.
